Position Summary:
The Fire Alarm Installation/Service Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience installing and/or servicing fire alarm systems
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage systems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems
- Experience with Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Fire-Lite, or Simplex systems
- Familiarity with network-based fire alarm panels and devices
- Basic computer literacy for documentation, reporting, and programming
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces
- Capable of standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods
- Willingness to work after-hours or on-call as needed
